Distribution
May 26, 2009. Scary stuff. Prepping to do a film is tough. Filming definitely has its challenges. Post is just insane.
But if you don’t have distribution, the film just won’t get out there.
My business partner and I spent the day talking about our plans in getting distribution. What are the distributors going to want from us? What are ways to make more sure that our project is viewed as a viable film that can make them money? How do we come to the table as true professionals?
This is stuff that would’ve sent us screaming into the hills a year ago.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re both freaking out a bit. But just a bit. There’s been some fussiness. A little bit of an “epic” feel to some of our conversations. We’ve felt the crazy trying to creep up on us.
And we’re moving through it in a real way. The freak outs are taking less time. They aren’t as big. They don’t cost us as much energy.
Basically, we’re becoming the professionals we’ve wanted to be for quite a while.
And distribution is a part of that. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Beautiful maybe isn’t the word that most people use to describe distribution, but it’s one that I’m using right now. This is a beautiful process, and I’m excited to be involved in it!

I think beautiful is the perfect word to use. Can hardly wait to see where you journey takes you
